What is your current role? How long have you worked for Loureiro?
I started at Loureiro three years ago as a laborer before working my way to a foreman, supervising the crew in North Providence. I now have somewhat of a project management and foreman hybrid role, splitting my time between the office and on-site.
On any given day, I’m up at 5:00am to get to the site by 6:30am. I make sure the guys are good to go and touch base with the Super on the plans for the day. If they need any assistance with the physical tasks, I stay on site and support them; otherwise, I’m in the office to do RFIs, quantities, and any other necessary paperwork.
What is the most interesting / rewarding aspect of your job?
Making a plan and seeing it come to life. In the early stages of a project after being awarded a bid, you start to look at the plans and come up with ideas on how to execute it in the most efficient and effective way possible. Every day on the job is so different, and having the ability to take a project from concept to completion — tackling the challenges along the way to see it through fruition — is extremely rewarding for me.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love physical labor, so even in my free time, that’s usually what I’m doing! I like to split wood, build different things, and just be outside. I enjoy fishing, playing golf, and spending as much time as I can with my family: my wife, Jessica, four-year-old daughter, Adella Grace, and two-year-old son, Dash Archer.
My daughter is super athletic and loves gymnastics, and it’s been really fun for me to see my kids getting into sports like their dad. I played professional baseball when I was younger; I was drafted as a senior in highschool to the Detroit Tigers and played with them for four years before signing a free agent contract with the Texas Rangers. We’re a very active family and enjoy watching sports too. Our favorite thing to do on Sundays is cook a big meal for everyone and cheer on the Patriots.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I come from a hard-nosed, blue-collar family, so I was always taught that hard work pays off. My grandfather used to say what you don’t do today is lost forever, so that inspires me to live every day to its fullest.
What inspires you the most - professionally, personally, or both?
I take a lot of pride in my work, so I treat Loureiro like “Anderson Construction” — it’s very personal to me. Putting together a good product for the client is what inspires me. No matter what I’m working on, I like to be honest and build a good reputation and relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the state.
What is the most surprising thing about you?
I’m a simple guy and an open book. Everyone who knows me is aware that I’m very intense, passionate, and like to move at a fast pace!
